Since as long as I can remember, there has been a legend of a witch who walks around Wellington. As a kid, I have memories of seeing a lady walking throughout Wellington, dressed like a witch (typical attire included a black dress and black pointed cap). The vision of the so-called Wellington Witch always got our imaginations going as we wondered whether this lady practiced witchcraft.
As I grew older, a close friend and realtor reported selling a house to the so-called Wellington Witch and recent tweet got my curiosity fired-up again so I’ve compiled a list of links to reported sightings of the Witch of Wellington in case others are interested.
Online documentation of the so-called Wellington Witch:
- The Witch of Wellington on the People of WalMart Website
- The (possible) Wellington Witch MySpace Page
- Recent tweets about the Wellington Witch
- The Wellington Witch also known as the Lava Lady from Los Angeles?
Have you seen or met the Wellington Witch? We’d love to hear your comments below!
This is 100% the Lava Lady from Los Angeles.
Spotted her at Home Depot on Southern and 441 today!
I saw her at the mall of Wellington Green… back in 08
You can see on my FB page that she was heading towards Publix this am. She smiled when I said good morning…I’ve been seeing her around Wellington over 20 years!
I used to live a block away from her in L.A. We called her—this was in the early 1990s—”The Lady from Mars.” She’s perfectly nice, though maybe a little shy.
I used to live a few blocks from her Lava House in L.A. She also sometimes helped out at our local polling place. As others have said, she seemed like a nice lady.
I used to see her in Walmart at 441 and Belvedere. That was when I was living in that area from 2003-2011
just yesterday 6/25/14 we were going on a field trip at boys and girls club to bowling then we saw her out on the left
I remember her from the 1980’s when I first moved to Welli World in 1976.
