safe-boatingThe U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is partnering with Wellington to offer a safe-boating class at 8 a.m. Saturday to residents who live in western Palm Beach County. The program provides instruction to boaters of all levels and is required to operate any vessel 10 horsepower or greater for those born after Jan. 1, 1988. The class, at Wellington Community Center, is $35. It satisfies the Florida Department of Natural Resources Boating Operation Requirements, and participants will get a state-issued Boaters ID Card, along with a certificate of completion.
