The 2013 South Florida Fair is in full swing! Have you gone yet?

I know I can only speak for myself when I say I get a slight twinge of excitement when I see the truck arriving at the fairgrounds preparing to set up. I’m at the age where I no longer go on the rides, but still enjoy the people watching, trying to catch a live birth in the Mooternity tent, and all the greasy food offerings.  The Fair brings back a lot of memories growing up and attending almost yearly as a child having grown up in the area.  Now as an adult my mother and I have a yearly tradition of going on the first Friday and enjoying an opening day stroll around the fair using our advanced tickets so we can come back again a second time and enjoy the fair with all the chaos that comes with the entire family and all the kids. This year was the same (although not as relaxing with a toddler in tow). However we took a few hours and explored the Expo Center and enjoyed some yummy fair food.

We always like seeing the sand sculpture on opening day and comparing it to the nearly finished piece when we return on the last weekend of the Fair. Here are a few photos I snapped while chasing my 17 month old around!
