The Florida Department of Agriculture along with the School District of Palm Beach County is making sure that there is better access to healthy meals for children age 18 and younger during the summer by adding new technology and more Summer Food Sites.

Last year about 300,000 children participated in summer food programs at various locations across the state according to the Florida Department of Agriculture.

This year families will be able to call, text, download apps or visit area websites to find a summer food program close to their home.

Families may dial 211; text FoodFL to 877-877; download the app ‘Nutrislice’ to their smartphone or tablet; or visit SummerFoodFlorida.org
