Hearing the pleas and concerns of residents Village Manager Paul Schofield said Tuesday the canal work has been postponed indefinitely until Wellington gets outside opinions. After several heated meetings with the Council and the Village Manager the Village has sought the opinion of an outside engineering firm to assess the project and come up with less invasive alternatives. They don’t expect that this issue will come back in front of the council any time this year. Schofield said “There will be no work on (the canals) without significant public notice.”

For the residents who live along the 80 remaining miles of canals here in Wellington this is a major victory!! We want to thank all who came out and got involved!
